The old way...Back then, you needed a full-service real estate agent if you expected to get top-dollar for your property.
Perhaps you remember when the real estate agent had a big fat book with all the local listings in it? If you wanted to know what's for sale, you had to find an agent — the gatekeeper to the marketplace — and look in the book. Which meant, if you wanted to find buyers to whom you could sell your property, you'd needed a real estate agent, too. Otherwise, you could sit on your property for a long time and, when a buyer finally came along, you might not get as good a price. But times have changed. |
A better way...Today, most American home buyers own a computer, tablet, or smartphone. They begin their home search online and don't have to contact an agent for info. Clearly, with America's real estate marketplace accessible online, the days when sellers must pay big real estate commissions are numbered.
Yes, many agents do offer "value-added" services as part of their listing bundles. But, what if the sellers is able to provide some of the services themselves? Maybe they don't really require all of them. Can the services they require be purchased directly and at-cost from qualified professionals — often the same people who sub-contract their services to the real estate agent? You betcha. And, the results? You can sell & save. Big! |
